It’s 2014! 14 Resolutions you should make and keep.

It’s 2014 and it’s time for those New Year’s Resolutions to make it back into your vocabulary. Some of you don’t know exactly what your resolution should be but I’ll give you 14 resolutions that you should make and keep.

1) Smile ALWAYS.

Yes, always smile regardless of how your feeling. Life’s too short to always be mad or upset about something that’s minimal. Keep calm and let your infectious smile beam threw to others.

2) Treat yourself to dinner and a movie

This is to all you parent’s out there. I know you guys are stressed out 24/7 from bills, bills and more bills but now is your time to get up and do something for yourself instead of thinking all about your bills. Go out/cook dinner for yourselves and treat yourself to either a movie/redbox. You deserve it!

3) Join a gym/fitness center

Being apart of something is awesome. Just knowing you have the support from others around you. I know plenty of friends that have joined fitness groups and have gained lifelong friends because of it. Enjoy yourself and your body as it transforms into a beautiful work of art.

4) Help Others/Support a Charity

Helping others is the most rewarding thing you can do. Support a charity by donating money, helping out with local chapters or even running fundraisers. You can make a difference is someone else’s life.

5) Pay off Credit Card Debt

Yes the holiday season is stressful on your wallet. Now here is the time to get up and do something about your growing credit card debt. Find different ways to save money and pay off your credit card debt so you will be stress free. Bring credit card spending to a minimum or when you really need to use it AKA emergency situations.

6) Graduate from College

Many readers are attending college to better prepare themselves for the real world. Grind into the spring semester with full force and never get behind, keep your eye on the prize. Graduation is near, stay strong and you will get there.

7) Surround yourself with people who won’t hold you back

This is important to everyone! Never let someone hold you back from what you want to do with your life. Surround yourself with loving individuals and do what’s best for you. Follow your dreams and I’m pretty sure the ones that love you will support you without looking away.

8) Find a better job

Are you sick of working for the same company you have for years?  Start your search this year!! Find a job that better suits your needs and your skills. Do not settle for something that your skills trumps. YOU DESERVE BETTER!

9) Conquer your worst fear

I said it, go out and conquer your worst fear. If it’s to fly in an airplane, take a trip in an airplane. If it’s a fear of heights, go and ride a roller coaster or travel to the top of the skyscraper. What your fear is conquer  it and become a stronger person.

10) Quit drinking or smoking

Quit drinking or smoking is one of the most popular new years resolutions of the decade. If you drink or smoke heavily, you should gradually kick the habit. Not only will you the ones around you support you, but you will gradually feel better about yourself.

11) Meet new people

Don’t just sit around the house wishing you had more friends. Go out and explore the city you live in and meet new people. You never know who you might run in to or meet. It could be your future husband or wife.

12) Learn a language

Knowing a foreign language has become of the most important assets a person can have. Usually if a person is bilingual they are more likely to obtain better jobs than those who only know one language, plus more employers are looking for bilingual applicants.

13) Start a blog/journal

The best way I believe to relive stress is by writing down what you feel. Start a blog or journal and see where it may take you. You might soon end up being a internet sensation or a well known blogger….you just might!

Regardless of what you are doing, never give up. Be strong and fight for what you want out of life. What’s that song by Keri Hilson? “sometimes love knocks you down, you just get back up when it knocks you down” don’t just use these words for love….. just remember when something knocks you down always get back up!

  1. I love #1 and made that my resolution. Plus I don’t want to sit around the house anymore. I am also not letting anyone hold me back in the new year. I am going to look for a new job too and doing some serious soul searching this year to figure out what I want out of life. Since I was 17 I have been someone’s wife or mother and that is changing now. My kids have grown to where they don’t need me the same way and well let’s just say the husband is now out of the picture. I plan to start living MY life! I always knew that day would come but I didn’t know when. Now is the time. Changes are hard but must be made in order to keep growing. Love this page.
